The Certified HVAC Systems Engineer ™ (CHVSE) is a gold-standard certification of the Global Academy of Finance and Management ®.  Earning this certification demonstrates that you have experience in designing, installing and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.  

The certification focuses on skills and competencies that include the ability to read technical blueprints representing HVAC engineering system requirements, safety management that includes fire and electrical safety, problem-solving skills, project management, and business communication.

 It forms the basis of the assessment that applicants must pass to gain the Certified HVAC Systems Engineer status and inclusion in the Directory of Certified / Chartered Professionals of The GAFM Academy of Finance and Management ®.

The role of HVAC Systems Engineer :

  • Serve as senior technician leading installation and maintenance of air conditioning, heating, ventilation, steam distribution, and refrigeration equipment in commercial facilities.
  • Install compressors, evaporators, motors, ducts, and piping as well as mechanical/electrical controls; read and interpret blueprints/diagrams.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on bearings, pumps, polyphase motors, shaft alignments and fans; document all maintenance/repair actions and manage equipment records.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and repair malfunctioning HVAC systems and components; utilize measuring and testing instruments.

Requirements:  

 i)  Two years experience as HVAC Technician / Engineer or similar capacity         iii)  Pass the  examination  (eligible candidates with sufficient experience may apply for exemption)
